Eric Devlin
​
Eric Devlin is currently the Managing Director of the Lone Star Forensic Group which is a digital forensic company based in Houston, Texas. Eric is licensed as an attorney by the State Bar of Texas and as an investigator by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Prior to his work as a forensic examiner, he was employed as a Prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he served as a District Court Chief and Chief Prosecutor of the Child Exploitation and Cybercrime Section. During his time as a prosecutor, he investigated thousands of cybercrime, computer breaches, network breaches, and child sexual exploitation cases.
Eric is also one of the founders of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, which, during his time, grew from a few part-time investigators to one of the largest and most productive taskforces in the United States.
In addition, he is one of the principal creators of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement’s Cybercrime Certification Program, the first in the nation training for law enforcement in this area, and has taught digital forensics and cybercrime across the United States.

After leaving public service, Eric was invited to serve as a Legal Consultant and Forensic Expert on the hit television drama, Cold Justice and Cold Justice: Sex Crimes. He traveled across the United States at the invitation of local law enforcement to assist in Cold Case Homicide and Sexual Assault investigations.

Eric is frequently asked to teach digital forensics and technology law to police officers, lawyers, law students, and other groups across the United States. He is also the creator of the widely acclaimed series of conversations with High School Students on the impact of Law and Technology in their lives and futures.
